Description

Portarlington Vet Anne Flanagan is a local Laois woman and started her practice in March 2018 with just one vet and one nurse. She saw the need for a specialised clinic, dedicated to specifically small animals to serve the needs of small animals and their owners in the Portarlington area. The practice has tripled in size and now comprises, a receptionist, two nurses, one full-time vet, one part-time vet and a full-time dog groomer. We ensure to provide the best customer experience possible, from Glenda on phones and reception who is always ready to greet customers with a smile and to make a fuss of your pet. To the nurses and vets who ensure extra snuggles are given during recovery and that they receive optimum care and comfort during their stay.

Tips for contacting vets

Location

Choose a vet that is conveniently located near your home or work. This will make it easier for you to schedule appointments and visit the clinic in case of emergencies.

Clinic hours

Look for a veterinary clinic with flexible hours that can accommodate your schedule, including evenings and weekends if possible. This will make it easier for you to bring your dog in for regular check-ups and any necessary treatments (flea, tick, worming, etc.).

Services offered

Make sure the clinic offers a wide range of services, including preventive care, diagnostics, surgery, dental care, and emergency services. This will ensure that your dog receives comprehensive care under a single roof.

Experience with your dog's breed

Choose a clinic who has experience treating your dog's specific breed, as some breeds may have unique health issues that require specialized knowledge and care.

Communication

Find a vet practitioner who is easy to communicate with and takes the time to answer your questions and address your concerns. A good vet should be patient, compassionate, and willing to educate you about your dog's health and care.
