English Springers are intelligent, eager, and responsive—but require structure and purpose. Without sufficient exercise or attention, they can become restless or overly vocal. They enjoy games, training sessions, and time outdoors, and they often excel in dog sports like agility or scent work.
Their medium-length coat, with feathering on the legs and ears, needs regular grooming to stay free of mats. The breed is generally healthy but may be prone to hip dysplasia, ear infections, and some eye conditions like progressive retinal atrophy (PRA).
