Information

English Springers are intelligent, eager, and responsive—but require structure and purpose. Without sufficient exercise or attention, they can become restless or overly vocal. They enjoy games, training sessions, and time outdoors, and they often excel in dog sports like agility or scent work.

Their medium-length coat, with feathering on the legs and ears, needs regular grooming to stay free of mats. The breed is generally healthy but may be prone to hip dysplasia, ear infections, and some eye conditions like progressive retinal atrophy (PRA).

Overview

The English Springer Spaniel is a versatile and enthusiastic gundog originally bred to "spring" game birds into flight. With its muscular build, feathered ears, and wagging tail, it’s a breed that radiates energy and joy. Springer Spaniels are known for their agility, trainability, and balanced temperament, making them excellent companions both in the field and at home.

They are deeply people-oriented, affectionate with family, and generally good with children and other pets. Their natural drive to work means they thrive in homes that can provide regular physical and mental stimulation.
