Originally developed in Germany, the Boxer is a medium-to-large working dog breed known for its strength, intelligence, and fun-loving spirit. Bred from bulldog and mastiff-type dogs, Boxers were once used for guarding, hunting, and even military work.
Boxers are athletic and muscular with a short, smooth coat, a strong jaw, and a slightly wrinkled forehead that gives them an expressive, alert look. They're incredibly affectionate with family, often referred to as "clownish" because of their goofy, fun-loving personalities.
They’re highly people-oriented and do best in homes where they receive plenty of interaction and exercise. While they can be boisterous, Boxers are also very patient and gentle with children when properly socialized.
