Information

Havapoos are cheerful, curious, and very people-oriented. They’re generally eager to please and quick to learn, which makes training relatively easy. Positive reinforcement and consistency are key.

They can be sensitive and don’t respond well to harsh corrections, but they thrive with praise and engagement. Early socialization helps prevent timidness or separation anxiety.

Their coats range from soft and wavy to curly and dense, and they require regular brushing and grooming to avoid tangles or matting. Most are low-shedding and allergy-friendly.

Overview

The Havapoo (also known as Poovanese or Havadoodle) is a hybrid breed resulting from the cross between a Havanese and a Toy or Miniature Poodle. Known for their loving temperament, wavy to curly coat, and playful attitude, Havapoos make excellent companion dogs—especially for first-time dog owners and families.

Compact in size and big in personality, Havapoos thrive on human interaction. They’re gentle with children, affectionate with adults, and often hypoallergenic due to their Poodle heritage. These dogs love attention and do best in homes where they’re treated like family members.

Their even temperament and adaptability make them ideal for apartment dwellers or small homes—as long as they receive regular mental and physical activity.
